Dear friends,
Hello, August!
I can’t believe how quickly July flew by. It was a whirlwind of travel, work, and enough pasta to carry me straight through Labor Day.
Our time in France and Italy was filled with too much vongole, lots of sunshine and salt water, and a few unforgettable museum visits. We also had the chance to visit Hotel La Palma and Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, two of the beautiful hotels we’ve collaborated with on stationery. It was such a thrill to see our notecard sets in their gift shops (seeing DA out in the world never gets old).
We came home just in time for two Hamptons pop-ups and, of course, camp visiting day. As much as I love my boys, it is still my least favorite day of the summer.
So much to look forward to in August. My parents are coming to visit us in the Hamptons, we’ll be exhibiting at Shoppe Object in New York, and Annabelle is getting ready for an incredible semester studying abroad in Australia. My son Chase is also taking his driver’s road test (fingers crossed that he passes).
Behind the scenes, we’re putting the finishing touches on our newest Garden Party notecards. The illustrations were so charming that we had trouble narrowing them down to five designs. Alas, the asparagus didn’t make the final cut, but I have a feeling it will make a comeback someday.
Our newest candles are also making their way from Portugal, and I can’t wait to share them with you. They should be arriving at the port any day now.
Before summer slips away, I’m looking forward to slowing down a bit, spending time in the Hamptons, arranging dahlias from my garden, and soaking up these last few weeks of unscheduled time with the boys before school starts again.
Things I’m loving:
• Running Point on Netflix. I binged both seasons, and Kate Hudson is fantastic.
• Eres swimsuits. The Mouna is the most flattering bikini I own, and it comes in the most beautiful Dear Annabelle green this season.
• The Calder exhibition at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris and the Giacometti exhibition in the Temple of Dendur at The Met. Try to catch them both before they close.
Wishing you a wonderful August (the Sunday of summer) filled with sunshine, alfresco dinners and good mail days.
With love and letters,
Marcie
