Why Is She Still Single?

I just started dating someone I met on Match. She’s seems really great – the whole package. The problem is that she’s been single for six years. I’m starting to wonder what’s wrong with her that she’s been single so long. Should I just end it now before I find out what is wrong and I’m already invested in her. Help!

Ok Overanalyzer – Stop thinking so much! You’re acting like a crazy girl and that’s probably why you’re still single. Why would you end it before getting to know her unless you’re putting up unnecessary road blocks in an effort to protect yourself emotionally…
As for your girl, this is what I know. There are a lot of logical reasons why a girl could be single for 6 years. Here are a few.
SHE HASN’T MET THE RIGHT PERSON YET
Guys can be douches (the jury’s still out on you). She’s probably gone out on dates with a bunch of them and isn’t willing to settle.
SHE’S FOCUSED ON HER CAREER
Women who are career oriented put their job before their love life. This might seem like a male trait but plenty of women do it.
SHE’S HAD A BUNCH OF SHORT “RELATIONSHIPS”
It’s possible she’s had a bunch of shorter (less than 3 month) relationships within these 6 years but doesn’t consider them relevant so leaves them out. No one goes 6 years without having some sort of love interest in their lives but they’re just not worth mentioning.
BOTTOM LINE:
Stop analyzing and get over it. You met her online dating, which means she’s ready to start dating so why the hell do you care if she’s been single for awhile?
